Why is Career & Technical Education
the Right Choice For So Many Students?
-
Career & Technical Education (CTE) engages students in hands-on learning that blends classroom instruction with experience. They LEARN, then they DO.
-
CTE connects learning to the “real world.” Students apply math, science and reading to problem-solving skills that are transferrable to many life situations.
-
CTE opens new pathways to graduation and opens new possibilities for careers. Some students continue into the workforce, some go to college, and some join the military, but all are prepared for SUCCESS.
-
CTE scholarships are available to completers with a GPA beginning at 3.0. A 3.5 GPA can qualify a student for a full-tuition scholarship (click here for more information).
-
CTE student organizations build personal skills by helping students learn the importance of teamwork, interaction, and collaboration (click here for more information).
-
CTE students can build their resumes and earn graduation recognition by being named to National Technical Honor Society and Mississippi Tech Master Scholars (click here for more information).
-
CTE students can earn E-2 credits toward their graduation with Honors or High Honors (click here for more information).
-
CTE students can earn national industry certification for knowledge and skills learned in their high school program.
