SkillsUSA Students Let the Good Times Roll at State Competitionphoto of students at Skills state competition

The good times were rolling this Mardi Gras as Harrison County Career & Technical students were competing in the State SkillsUSA High School State Championships held at the Jackson Trademark and Convention Center, hosted by the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation. 

Zachary Wines placed 1st in Architectural Drafting
​Jay Watts placed 1st in Cabinetmaking
​Blake Caudill  placed 2nd in Auto Service Technology 
Merlynn Hines placed 3rd in Prepared Speech 

SkillsUSA programs include local, state and national competition in which students demonstrate occupational/technical and leadership skills. At the annual national-level SkillsUSA Championships, over 4,600 students compete in 95 occupational and leadership skill areas.

The 1st place students Zachary Wines and Jay Watts, will advance to represent Mississippi at the National SkillsUSA Conference in Louisville, KY this summer.

SkillsUSA Students Test Their Skills at Regional Competition

On Friday, Feb 10, Harrison County Career & Technical Center students attended the Regional SkillsUSA High School competition at Jones Junior College.  The following students placed, and will now advance to the State Championships in Jackson later this month.SkillsUSA winner photo
