If you can’t be a pine on the top of the hill,
Then be a shrub in the valley that be,
But be the best shrub in the valley that be,
If you can’t be a shrub be a bush,

If you can’t be a highway, then just be a trail,
If you can’t be a sun, be a star;
It isn’t by size that you win or you fail…
Be the best of whatever you are!- Byron Garrett

We got some pretty good answers when students were asked,

”Why did you choose your Career & Technical program?”

Business Marketing

"I chose to take a Career Tech program to better my entrepreneurship skills in hopes that one day I can start my own business.  Also, I would just like to have a better understanding of the business world in general, so that I can be/do the best at my job in the future."  Kaylie Carroll, Harrison Central Class of 2023

"I chose Business Marketing in hopes of learning how marketing works.  In the end, I've learned so much more and have developed a deep appreciation of the class and my wonderful teacher.  I hope to develop a great career in business."  Kyla Ramos, D'Iberville Class of 2022

"I want to learn more about business so I can be successful in my career.  I look forward to owning my own business in real estate after college."  Kaylie Watts, West Harrison Class of 2023

"I plan to utilize this class to get skills in business to help my experience in any job/career.  As an aspiring photographer and art major, networking is important as well as marketing skills.  Recognition benefits artists the most when trying to make a living."  Dustin Bui, Harrison Central Class of 2022

“I felt like it would be a good fit for me.  The whole reason is to learn life-long skills that can help you achieve goals later on in life.”  Aaron King, West Harrison Class of 2018

“Mrs Will and I had an instant connection as soon as she explained what Marketing was.  So, after that experience, I instantly wanted to join and become part of the Career-Tech family.”  De’Ja’ Dailey, Harrison Central Class of 2018
